A Study for Development of Korean Discomfort Measurement tool associated with intramuscular injection

Abstract

|
The main purpose of this study was to develop Korean discomfort measurement tool associated with IM injection using Korean.
The specific purposes were.to identify the frequency of terms; to identify whether the terms were included in mild-moderate pain (factor 11,) of the Korean pain ratio scale.
The subjects of this study-were 240 nursing students. Korean Pain Measurement tool were used for data collection during the period from Oct. 5 to Nov. 20, 1988.
The result was that the frequencies of pain terms were the same as finding in previous study. Almost all terms were in mild-moderate pain (factor 11) of KPRS.
Further study is needed to combinate the terms without considerating their ratio scores with visual analogue scale in order to be measured for discomfort of IM injection.
